a lil late night post before turning in
Idk what's up with my algorithm lately. Lately, all the videos on my feed revolve around the general theme of “surviving your twenties'', “not wasting your twenties” etc, and it makes me wonder what people think happens after your twenties. Are the remaining years spent drifting into anonymity?
Your twenties are a precious, precious time, and life afterwards is equally as precious.
I’ve always viewed your twenties as the time designated for you to fuck up. You’re a kid. You’re meant to do stupid shit. You’re meant to make the wrong decisions. It’s okay for you to make mistakes and not get shit right. That’s how you learn. It's never a waste if at the end of it you know exactly who it is you want to be.
This shit goes by in a blink. It’s gone in a breath before you can get a grasp on it. Don't rush it any more than it needs to be.
I spoke with my cousin today and he said the end of your twenties marks the end of the “best friend era”. And he does have a point. The number of people I consider close friends has shrunk considerably.
It's not all bad though.
Last night I sat on the tiles of the bathroom floor talking to a girl with eyes the clearest blue. Blue like cupping a pool of water in your hand.
…life can be equally as precious…
I know I said last week “KEHLANI” by Jordan Adetunji was the song of the summer but I was wrong.
THIS is legitimately the song of the summer.
move | adam port, stryv feat malachiii
Below are some other records I’ve been enjoying this week.
pressure | rushy
the marias | run your mouth
If there is one thing I learned in my twenties it's that I will always be frivolous and I will NEVER stop.
I am very okay with that - at least for now
I hope you all are enjoying summer so far, and enjoying life always.
Until next week.
